The Palestinian Health Ministry said hospitals in Gaza had received two Palestinians who died from injuries sustained in previous Israeli attacks over the past 48 hours, along with six wounded.
Palestinian news agency Wafa reported, citing local sources, that three Palestinians were injured when Israeli forces opened fire at a gathering of civilians north of Khan Younis.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces carried out a demolition operation in areas under their control south of Khan Younis, while military vehicles continued firing east of Salah al-Din Street near Wadi Gaza Bridge in central Gaza, according to Wafa.
Ceasefire violations
The latest injuries occurred outside areas under Israeli control and constitute another violation of the fragile ceasefire, according to local reporting. Gaza is currently supposed to remain under a proposed 14-day truce, alongside the ceasefire that has been in effect since October 10, 2025.
The northern and eastern parts of Gaza, particularly areas near the so-called Yellow Line, witnessed heavy gunfire overnight from Israeli military vehicles stationed inside the line.
Displacement camps are located near some of these areas, including Halawa camp in Jabalia in northeastern Gaza, exposing residents to the risk of direct and indiscriminate fire.
Eyewitnesses said Israeli forces had positioned machine guns at military sites near the Yellow Line and were using them to fire heavily toward nearby areas, while military patrols and movements continued inside areas under Israeli control.
Worsening humanitarian crisis
The reduction of the area available to Palestinians to less than 30% of the Gaza Strip and their displacement toward western areas have further worsened humanitarian and health conditions, amid overcrowded displacement camps, densely packed tents, destroyed infrastructure, disease and rodent outbreaks, and inadequate ventilation.
The humanitarian crisis has also been exacerbated by Israeli restrictions on the entry of aid trucks, essential supplies, tents and mobile homes, as well as obstacles to reconstruction and tight restrictions at crossings. Only limited numbers of Palestinians are allowed to leave Gaza following complex coordination procedures.
Palestinians hope that ongoing political efforts will translate into practical measures to consolidate the ceasefire and halt violations, as Gaza's hospitals continue to face severe shortages of medicines, equipment and medical staff needed to treat the wounded.
Israel continues its tight blockade of the Gaza Strip, amid Palestinian accusations that it is failing to uphold its obligations under the ceasefire agreement.
According to Gaza's Health Ministry, Israeli violations since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025, have killed 1,257 Palestinians and injured 4,131 others.
