About Gazatte
Our Newsroom
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Gazatte is a small, independent newsroom covering the Middle East and world affairs. It is owned and privately funded by its founder, with no investors, grants or donations; see Ownership & Funding. This page explains how we work, who writes for us and how to reach us.
How we work
We report from public sources: official statements and documents, news agencies and other news organisations. Every article names the sources it relies on.
We use AI tools to help draft, summarise and translate. An editor checks every article against its sources, edits it and approves it before it is published. AI is never used to invent quotes, sources, images or people. See How we use AI.
Articles written in the newsroom carry the byline “Gazatte Staff” unless the writer is credited by name, and the newsroom takes full responsibility for them. Errors are corrected openly under our corrections policy.
Contributors
Some pieces, mostly opinion, are written by outside writers. They appear under the writer’s own name, marked “Contributor”, and reflect the writer’s views, not Gazatte’s. An editor reviews every contribution before publication.
Pieces first published elsewhere and republished with permission name the original publication. To pitch a piece, message the newsroom on WhatsApp.
