Nearly 600 former Israeli military, intelligence and diplomatic officials have urged U.S. President Donald Trump to intervene against what they described as “acts of terrorism by Jewish settlers” in the occupied West Bank.
The appeal was delivered in a letter from members of Commanders for Israel’s Security to the White House ahead of Trump’s expected meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The signatories warned that escalating violence could trigger a wider regional crisis, endanger Israeli security, harm U.S. interests and obstruct Washington-backed diplomatic initiatives.
