Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Spain forward Ferran Torres from Barcelona, with the 26-year-old agreeing a contract that runs until 2031.
The clubs did not disclose the financial terms, but reports put the transfer fee at about €50 million. Torres will wear the No. 9 shirt at the French club.
“I’m delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris Saint-Germain,” Torres said in a statement.
The move takes Torres to the reigning European champions shortly after he scored the decisive goal in extra time of the 2026 World Cup final, giving Spain a 1-0 victory over Argentina and its second world title.
He will also reunite with Luis Enrique, who coached him with Spain and is now in charge of PSG. Enrique said the club wanted to strengthen its squad after several departures during the transfer window, with former PSG forward Gonçalo Ramos having moved to AC Milan.
Torres leaves Barcelona after a particularly productive 2025-26 campaign. He scored 21 goals and provided three assists in 49 appearances across all competitions as Barcelona retained the La Liga title.
His overall Barcelona record stands at 207 appearances and 65 goals, according to the club's player records. He won three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups during his time at Camp Nou.
Torres joined Barcelona from Manchester City in January 2022, after beginning his senior career with Valencia. He entered Valencia's academy at the age of seven and made his La Liga debut against Eibar on 16 December 2017, becoming the first player born in the 21st century to appear in the competition.
He made 97 appearances for Valencia before moving to Manchester City in 2020. During his time in England, he won the Premier League and League Cup before returning to Spain with Barcelona.
At international level, Torres now has 25 goals in 65 appearances for Spain. His World Cup-winning strike against Argentina capped a summer in which he became one of the defining figures of Spain's successful campaign.
PSG will hope his versatility across the front line adds another attacking option as the club begins its latest campaign under Enrique. Torres is capable of operating as a centre-forward or from either wing, giving the coach flexibility in how he deploys him.
Torres's arrival was confirmed on Saturday, 15 August, completing his move from Barcelona less than a month after his decisive World Cup goal.
