Smart Shooter has secured a new $10.7 million contract with the US Army to supply its AI-powered SMASH fire-control systems, designed to improve soldiers’ accuracy against drones and fast-moving aerial targets.

The company said deliveries are expected during the third quarter of 2026. The SMASH system combines artificial intelligence and computer vision inside a smart weapon sight mounted on rifles, allowing soldiers to track and engage targets with greater precision.

According to the company, the technology is built around a “one shot, one hit” concept and is specifically intended to counter the growing threat posed by drones on modern battlefields.

CEO Michal Mor said armed forces increasingly require battlefield-proven systems that can be deployed quickly as drone threats become more widespread and sophisticated.

The agreement follows a previous $13.4 million deal signed in May 2025 between Smart Shooter and the US Department of Defense under the Army’s Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense Task Force.

The latest contract highlights the continued global expansion of Israel’s defense technology sector. According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Israel surpassed the United Kingdom to become the world’s seventh-largest arms exporter between 2021 and 2025.

Official Israeli Defense Ministry data also showed defense exports rising from $8.55 billion in 2020 to nearly $14.7 billion in 2024, marking an increase of around 72%.
