Two U.S. Service Members Killed, One Missing in Jordan During Iranian Attacks

Two U.S. service members were killed and a third remains missing following Iranian missile and drone attacks in Jordan, the United States Central Command said Saturday.

CENTCOM said the incident occurred on July 17 as American and partner forces were responding to Iranian ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.

“Two members of the U.S. Armed Forces were killed in the line of duty in Jordan,” the command said, adding that another service member remains missing.

Four other U.S. military personnel were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals. They were later discharged after receiving treatment, while those assessed for minor injuries returned to duty.

CENTCOM said it would withhold further information, including the identities of those killed, until 24 hours after their families had been formally notified.
