President Donald Trump issued a stark warning Sunday, saying the United States could “complete the mission militarily” if Iran persists in violating the ceasefire. In a post on his social media platform, Trump stated the U.S. may reach a point where it “cannot remain tolerant or rational,” adding: “If that happens, Iran will no longer exist.”
The comments followed U.S. airstrikes on Iranian targets, which CENTCOM described as retaliation for Iranian attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. American aircraft reportedly struck missile storage facilities, drone sites, and coastal radar installations.
Trump reiterated that continued violations could force Washington to expand its military campaign. The escalation underscores mounting tensions in the Gulf, where recent incidents have disrupted maritime security and raised fears of broader confrontation.
