U.S. President Donald Trump said he has not yet decided whether to authorize broader strikes against Iran, indicating that Tehran has recently shown greater seriousness in negotiations with Washington as the regional conflict continues to expand.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said discussions with Iran were ongoing and that its position appeared to be growing more serious by the day.

He warned that Tehran now faced two options: reach an agreement with Washington or confront a “much more violent” level of military strikes.

Iran responded with a sharp warning. Ali Abdollahi, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, declared that Iran had formally adopted a battlefield equation under which the death of every Iranian would be answered with the killing of an American soldier.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is exploring a possible route to revive stalled negotiations between the United States and Iran aimed at ending the conflict, which has continued for nearly five months. The diplomatic effort was initiated by China.

Oman has also intensified its contacts with Tehran over maritime security and the regulation of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
