Spain were crowned 2026 FIFA World Cup champions after defeating defending champion Argentina 1–0 following extra time in Sunday’s final.

The victory secured Spain’s second World Cup title, 16 years after the country first lifted the trophy in South Africa in 2010.

As champions, Spain received FIFA’s $50 million first-place award, while Argentina earned $33 million for finishing as runners-up.

England collected $29 million after claiming third place with a dramatic 6–4 victory over France, who received $27 million for finishing fourth.

Each team eliminated in the quarterfinals earned $19 million, while countries finishing between ninth and 16th received $15 million apiece.

Teams ranked from 17th to 32nd were awarded $11 million each, with the countries eliminated during the group stage receiving $9 million.

FIFA allocated a total of $655 million in performance-based prize money for the expanded 48-team tournament.
