Islamabad — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced Saturday that the United States and Iran have agreed on a peace framework to end the ongoing Middle East war, after reaching a final text. He said Pakistan is preparing for electronic signing within the next 24 hours, to be followed by technical-level discussions next week.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed Friday that negotiations are in their final stages, expressing optimism that the agreement could be announced soon once final procedures are completed. He described the document as a “memorandum of understanding” covering regional issues, including the war in Lebanon, and said Tehran has insisted that ending hostilities requires Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese territory.

A senior U.S. official also said Friday that an agreement with Iran could be signed in the coming days, estimating the chances at 80–85 percent.
