Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday that he spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian about the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, reaffirming Islamabad's willingness to continue playing a mediating role.

In a post on X, Sharif said the two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and stressed the importance of restraint, dialogue, and diplomacy to preserve the fragile peace achieved in recent months.

Pakistan has repeatedly called for diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts and has offered to facilitate dialogue as tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel remain high.
