Jerusalem—On Tuesday, as the Muslim world marked the Day of Arafat, dozens of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem under the protection of Israeli forces. Videos showed settlers performing loud prayers near the western colonnade by Bab al-Qattanin, celebrating the Jewish holiday of Shavuot.

According to the Wadi Hilweh Information Center, 302 settlers entered the mosque compound during the morning hours. The incursions included provocative tours in the eastern courtyard and western colonnade, accompanied by loud prayers and Talmudic rituals, as reported by the Jerusalem Governorate.

Separately, Israeli police raided the home of Jerusalemite Abdul Halim al-Shaloudi, threatened with eviction in the Wadi Hilweh neighborhood of Silwan. On Monday, Israeli authorities carried out a series of assaults across Jerusalem, including demolitions, arrests, expulsions, and land confiscation notices affecting dozens of dunams of Palestinian property, while settlers continued attacks against holy sites.

Data from the Jerusalem Governorate indicated that 4,112 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque under police protection during April 2026.
