Jerusalem researcher Fakhri Abu Diab warned that extremist Temple organizations are preparing for what they describe as the largest planned incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque during the so-called “Temple Destruction” commemoration, with organizers aiming to bring thousands of settlers to the site.

Abu Diab said these groups seek to strengthen Jewish presence inside Al-Aqsa and impose religious and political changes that would alter the mosque’s Islamic identity. He accused Israeli authorities of providing ongoing support and protection for these groups.

He said the situation has moved beyond symbolic acts and provocations toward attempts to create permanent changes inside the mosque and challenge the existing status quo.

According to Abu Diab, Israeli authorities have increased security measures for settlers, restricted access to the Old City, and tightened controls around Al-Aqsa ahead of the planned incursions.

He called on Palestinians who can reach Jerusalem to maintain their presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque, describing public presence and worship there as a key means of protecting the site from what he called Judaization plans.
