The Israeli military said on Tuesday that its air force had intercepted a drone near the border with Jordan and was investigating where it had been launched.

The military said the drone did not enter Israeli airspace before it was intercepted. No additional details were provided about its route or possible origin.

The incident follows repeated attacks affecting Jordan since fighting between Iran and the United States resumed earlier in July. Israel did not participate in the latest round of hostilities.

In a separate incident, warning sirens sounded early Tuesday in the Kissufim area near the Gaza Strip. The military later said the alert had been triggered accidentally.
