Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced Saturday that its retaliation against a new U.S. strike will be “swift and decisive.” State media reported the Guard confronted American attacks on Sirik Island along the Strait of Hormuz. Local outlets said a projectile hit near a port facility in Sirik on Friday.

The statement followed confirmation from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) that American aircraft carried out strikes against Iranian missile storage, drone facilities, and coastal radar sites. The strikes were described as retaliation for Thursday’s attack on a commercial ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The escalation underscores mounting tensions in the strategic waterway, where recent incidents have disrupted shipping and heightened fears of broader confrontation. Iran has not claimed responsibility for the vessel attack but has warned it will respond forcefully to U.S. military actions.
