The Iranian presidency stated Thursday that Army Commander Amir Hatami presented a detailed report to President Masoud Pezeshkian on operational conditions and defensive measures against enemy movements. Hatami outlined the process of restoring readiness and enhancing combat efficiency during the ceasefire period.

On the diplomatic front, Pezeshkian met Wednesday with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to review regional developments. Both sides stressed the importance of continuing political consultations and strengthening regional cooperation. They exchanged views on indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States and discussed ways to follow up on existing understandings.

Naqvi conveyed messages and perspectives from Pakistani officials regarding the current trajectory of events and emphasized the need to maintain dialogue and mutual understanding. On May 10, Iran delivered its response to a U.S. proposal through the Pakistani mediator, though President Donald Trump dismissed the plan as “completely unacceptable.”

Following stalled negotiations, the United States imposed a blockade on Iranian ports beginning April 13, including facilities along the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for global energy supplies.
