After the United States presented a proposal to restart negotiations, Tehran responded with conditions focused on ending military escalation across the region, especially in Lebanon, where Israel continues fighting Hezbollah.

Iranian officials also demanded compensation for war damages, the lifting of sanctions, an end to restrictions on Iranian oil exports, and guarantees against future attacks. Tehran stressed that secure navigation through the Strait of Hormuz remains a key priority for regional stability.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said the country’s demands are “legitimate,” describing Iran’s offer as a “generous and responsible initiative” aimed at restoring security in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump quickly rejected Tehran’s proposal, calling it “completely unacceptable” in a post on Truth Social without providing further details.

Washington has reportedly pushed for a ceasefire before moving into negotiations over more controversial issues, including Iran’s nuclear program.
