Five Palestinians, including three children, were killed early Tuesday after an Israeli drone struck a residential home belonging to the al-Masri family near the Chamber of Commerce and Al-Samer Junction in central Gaza City.
The strike triggered a fire inside the home after gas canisters reportedly exploded. Rescue crews initially recovered four bodies, describing the remains as charred and dismembered. The death toll later rose to five.
Distressing footage from the scene showed emergency workers retrieving the burned bodies of children from the destroyed home.
The attack came during a night of intense Israeli military activity across the Gaza Strip. Israeli drones also carried out a strike near the beginning of Al-Mansoura Street, east of Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighbourhood, while surveillance aircraft flew heavily overhead.
Israeli military vehicles opened intense fire east of Gaza City’s Tuffah neighbourhood, where troops also carried out demolition operations. In central Gaza, Israeli forces and bulldozers advanced near the entrance to a pharmaceutical factory east of Deir al-Balah, accompanied by heavy gunfire.
Israeli surveillance drones continued circling over Gaza City following the deadly attack.
