Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten on Wednesday called for a firm international response to any Iranian violations of the fragile ceasefire in the Middle East, while stressing the importance of keeping diplomatic efforts alive.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the NATO leaders' summit in Ankara, Jetten said it was essential to demonstrate that breaches of the ceasefire would not be accepted.

"It is necessary to show that violations of the ceasefire are unacceptable," he said when asked about the latest US military strikes on Iran.

Jetten also emphasized that diplomatic engagement must continue alongside deterrence.

"At the same time, maximum diplomatic pressure must be applied to ensure negotiations continue and a solution can be reached," he said.

His remarks come amid renewed regional tensions following expanded US strikes on Iranian military targets and growing concerns over the stability of the ceasefire in the Middle East.
