The Gaza Ministry of Health announced that eight Palestinians were killed over the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll from the war in Gaza since October 2023 to 72,988.

Meanwhile, the Fishermen’s Committees Union reported that Israeli forces detained nine Palestinian fishermen after attacking their boats off the coast of Gaza.

The Israeli military said it struck the headquarters of Hamas’ naval police in Khan Younis and targeted three weapons storage sites that it claimed were intended for attacks against its forces operating in the area.

According to the military, the targeted facility was used to plan and carry out operations against Israeli forces, adding that several militants were killed in the strikes, including Ismail al-Lahham, whom it identified as a Hamas military cell commander.

In a separate incident, the Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that Israeli forces detained seven Palestinian Red Crescent medics while they were carrying out humanitarian duties and passing through a military checkpoint on Salah al-Din Road in central Gaza.

The ministry said five of the medics were later released after questioning, while two remain in custody. It condemned the arrests, warning that targeting medical personnel and obstructing their work violates international humanitarian law and undermines healthcare services in the Gaza Strip.
